Job 33:7-8

Biblical Context

Fear and pressure will not govern you; terror will not lay heavy hands. God, within you, is listening to your inner words.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the Job passage you see not a distant judge but the I AM present in you, the watcher of your life. Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid is not commanding fear to vanish from the world, but declaring the state you may enter: awareness that remains unmoved by threats. When you hear Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, you are reminded that your inner speech is heard by the deepest part of you. The voice you answer with is your true self, not the fear-filled echo in the outer world. Therefore, shift your state: dwell in the consciousness that you are the I AM, the constant observer who does not concede to fear's claims. In that state, terror loses its grip and the heavy hand dissolves into lightness. Practice a daily revision: declare, in present tense, that you are the I AM who hears and commands; imagine the inner hearing affirming your chosen words and feel the relief as the mind quiets.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place your hand on your chest, and assume the I AM presence. Repeat, in the present tense, 'I am the I AM; fear cannot rule me,' until the feeling of calm is real.
