23If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
Job 33:23

Biblical Context

There is an inner messenger, a trusted interpreter among many thoughts, who reveals your real uprightness. This inner guide shows the right condition of the heart when sought.

Neville's Inner Vision

At first glance, Job speaks of an external messenger, yet in the Neville mode we know the messenger is the I AM within. The verse tells us there exists a 'one among a thousand'—not a separate person but a facet of consciousness that interprets the events of life and reveals your uprightness to you. When you assume the role of the witness, you call forth the inner interpreter, the quiet narrator who can translate every appearance into the language of truth. The mind, in its restless crowd of thoughts, sometimes believes it is separate from its own righteousness; yet the interpreter arises from awareness itself, showing that your state of consciousness determines the so-called facts. To me, this is practical: reveal the right state now. When you feel the urge to judge a situation as 'unjust' or 'impossible,' imagine the messenger stepping forward, checking your thoughts, and announcing, 'You are upright now; your awareness is whole.' Do not seek afar; look inward and notice the interpretation already present in your I AM. The outer scene adjusts to the consciousness that believes it.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine the inner messenger standing beside you, an interpreter among a thousand thoughts, affirming your uprightness. Then revise any limiting thought by declaring: I AM upright now.
