Preservation by Inner Light
Job 29:2-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Job longs for the days of old when God preserved him and his life was lit by divine light. He recalls the Almighty’s presence and the secret of God resting on his tabernacle, with his family around him.
Neville's Inner Vision
What you call Job’s memory is your own inner state seeking to re-enter a consciousness that has never ceased. The days of old represent a moment when the I AM awareness was vividly active, and God’s candle shone upon his head as a symbol of inner illumination. To walk through darkness is to pass through stages of belief in separation from the divine; yet the candle’s light shows that darkness is simply thoughts not yet attended to. The “secret of God upon my tabernacle” is the intimate relationship between your sense of self and the divine presence you can cultivate now. The Almighty with me is the assurance that consciousness is not external to you but the very substance of your being, including your life and its blessings as forms of your inner life. In this reading, renewal comes as the revival of your present state: you are preserved, illuminated, and attended by the Divine as you move through any night. Rest in the felt truth that you are always in the days when God is with you, and a new creation awakens within you.
Practice This Now
Assume the state now: I am preserved by God, and His light shines on my head today. Feel it as real in your chest and let your surroundings reflect the illumination.
