Inner Fear as Wisdom

Job 28:28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 28 in context

Scripture Focus

28And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Job 28:28

Biblical Context

Reverence for the LORD is wisdom. True understanding follows when one departs from evil.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider this verse as a whisper from your own consciousness. The 'fear of the LORD' is not fear of punishment but the awe-filled attention to the I AM within you, the source of all life. Wisdom arises when your consciousness aligns with that inner ruler, perceiving not through lack or limitation but through the reality you already are. To 'depart from evil' is to withdraw attention from any inner image or habit that contradicts your divinity—fear, blame, grievance, or the sense of separation. When you revise those inner movements by returning to the I AM, understanding follows; you see that effects and causes are born of your inner state, and you can choose anew. In the present moment your imagination is the mechanism by which you live. If you permit a new premise to occupy your mind—'I am the LORD within me; I depart from every image of harm'—your outer world will respond in kind, confirming the truth of your inner state. The message invites you to treat wisdom as a state of being you assume now, not as a distant doctrine.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare: I AM the awareness that fears nothing and chooses the good; revise a current anxious thought by turning it into a question to the I AM. Feel it real by sensing your inner light expanding.
