20Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
22Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
23God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
Job 28:20-23

Biblical Context

The passage asks where wisdom comes from and where understanding resides, noting that wisdom is hidden from all living beings and known only by God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Job 28:20-23 asks for the source and the house of wisdom. In my reading, wisdom is not outside you to be found in markets or mountains; it is the state of consciousness you inhabit. The 'place of understanding' is the inner alignment of your attention with I AM, the awareness that never sleeps. God understands the way, and God is the I AM you awaken to when you question and then affirm that you already know. Destruction and death imagine the wisdom distant, but their voices reveal the fear that wisdom has been lost to you; therefore the true path is to return to the inner witness who already knows. When you shift your sense of self from seeker to knower, the way opens. The path is not a territory to conquer but a recognition of your own inner light: wisdom is unveiled when your consciousness chooses to embody the understanding it seeks.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, breathe, and assume the feeling, 'I AM wisdom now; I know the place of understanding within me.' Hold this as a real sensation for 2–5 minutes, then let one small action follow that confirms this inner knowledge.
