The Place of Understanding Within

Job 28:20-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 28 in context

Scripture Focus

20Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
Job 28:20-21

Biblical Context

It asks where wisdom comes from and where understanding resides. It notes that true wisdom is hidden from every living eye.

Neville's Inner Vision

Job asks the source of wisdom as if it were far off and guarded by birds. Yet the inner reader knows the question is not about others, but about the state of consciousness that perceives. Wisdom is not a place to be found in the world but a dwelling of awareness within. When I acknowledge that wisdom comes from the I AM that I am, I cease the chase and realize that understanding arises in the moment I turn attention away from objects and toward the witness of attention itself. The hiding of wisdom is simply my own habit of looking outside; the eye that looks out is the same eye that must look in. By assuming that I already possess the discernment I seek, I align with the truth that every decision, every insight, is a movement of consciousness, not a distant fact. Repeat and feel: I am the source and the harbor of understanding; wisdom is the state of awareness that I am.

Practice This Now

Assume the identity I am the wisdom that understands. Feel this awareness expanding within you as the living center of understanding, right now.
