Biblical Context
This verse states that the wicked have a portion with God and that the oppressors will receive their inheritance from the Almighty.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the line as a map of consciousness. The 'portion with God' is not a verdict upon others in some external courtroom; it is the inner weather you are living in—the state of awareness you currently inhabit. The Almighty you read about in Job is your own I AM, the steady witness who notices every thought and feeling. If your mind leans toward domination or grievance, you experience life as if those forces belong to someone else; you are merely receiving the heritage of that inner alignment. The verse asks you to see that what you call fate or punishment arises from your inner posture, not from a distant bolt of fate. Yet it also liberates you: you can revise that posture in an instant. By choosing to identify with the presence of God here and now, by declaring 'I am the I AM in action, right where I stand,' you transform the scene. The 'portion' can become grace, justice, and order, because you and God are one in your present awareness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare, 'I am the I AM, one with God now.' Feel the truth of this unity in your chest, then imagine a scene where harmony and justice flow from within.
