Read Job 23 in context

Scripture Focus

9On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
Job 23:9

Biblical Context

Job states that God is at work on both the left and the right, yet cannot be seen by him.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the inner vantage point, the left hand and the right hand are not places we go to examine with the eyes, but movements of consciousness. Job confesses that God doth work, though not beholden by the senses; the unseen Hand is the I AM moving within your life. The left and the right symbolize the two streams of experience—action and revelation—yet both arise from the same infinite presence. When you trust this, you learn that God does not cease to act even when you cannot see Him; your closed eyes are only a signal that seeing is not the source of knowing. The I AM is there as your permanent center, the one who works behind appearances, arranging the conditions to fulfill your inner state. Your faith is not in what the senses reveal but in the fact that awareness itself is God-in-action; your job is to align your inner state with the feeling that God is present, active, and directing every scene toward your good. In practice, assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled, and revise your sense of lack until your inner vision confirms His constant presence.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe into your heart, and assume the I AM is present on your left and right—actively guiding you, now.
