Hidden Presence, Inner Gold

Job 23:8-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 23 in context

Scripture Focus

8Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
9On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
10But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Job 23:8-10

Biblical Context

Job says he moves forward and backward but cannot sense God; yet God knows the way he takes, and through the trial, he will come forth as gold.

Neville's Inner Vision

Job’s cry is the admission of a consciousness seeking the Presence it cannot perceive in the outward scene. I move forward and backward, and yet the outer eye cannot locate Him; still, the inner I AM never leaves me, even when He seems to hide on the left or the right. The truth is not a distant God but a state of awareness: He knows the way I take because I am that way already in consciousness. When He trials me, it is the refining fire of perception, turning fear into faith and doubt into solid trust. I shall come forth as gold because the furnace is the instrument by which my sense of self is transformed. The moment the appearance of absence challenges me, I turn inward and affirm: I am led by an unseen Presence that guides every step, and the perceived trial merely reveals the fullness of my inner kingdom.

Practice This Now

Assume the awareness of the I AM as your constant guide, and revise your sense of absence by feeling it real that you are led from within; close your eyes, breathe, and imagine a radiant inner light directing every step as you move forward.
