The foot he mentions holding his steps signifies alignment with divine law—the inner decision to stay true to your chosen pattern, not to drift when appearances tempt you to doubt. Do not seek to alter the outer scene; alter the inner sense of self until it corresponds to the finished pattern you already walk in the unseen. See yourself being refined, becoming luminous, secure in the path your I AM has chosen. The gold is consciousness transformed by unwavering trust in a divine sequence. Remember: your faith is the incense that reveals the path; the trial is merely the furnace shaping you into your perfected self.
