Biblical Context
The verses depict a social order where the strong possess the earth, while widows and the fatherless are left empty and broken. It points to injustice and a need for mercy and accountability.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the Neville lens, the 'mighty man' and the 'honourable man' are not external rulers but inner states of consciousness. the earth they claim is the field of your awareness—the ground on which reality is made real. When you hear that widows are sent away and the fatherless are left with broken arms, you glimpse a disturbance within: the belief that power, status, and separation govern your world rather than the I AM. Oppression is the inner movement of fear, scarcity, and neglect toward the parts of you that long for nourishment and care. The remedy is a shift in your assumed state of being. Embrace the conviction that I AM is the sole possessor of all life, supply, and justice. In that awareness, the so-called strong serve as instruments of your compassion, and you revise the sense of lack by imagining those inner parts fully supported. As you dwell in this revised consciousness, the outer world reflects your inner mercy, restoring wholeness to the widow and fatherless within your awareness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I AM the ground of all being.' Then vividly imagine the inner widow and fatherless aspects in you being nourished and protected by your I AM, and rest in the feeling of their restored wholeness.
