Inner Equality of Death

Job 21:22-26 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 21 in context

Scripture Focus

22Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
23One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
24His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
25And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
26They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
Job 21:22-26

Biblical Context

The passage asserts that God cannot be taught by humans and that, regardless of outward status, all people eventually die and return to dust; true conditions of life are found within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Shall any teach God knowledge? I read this as a reminder that God is the I AM within, the consciousness behind every appearance. Those 'high' in the world—rich, strong, at ease—are merely states of consciousness, not proofs of a separate reality. Yet Job shows that both the one in full strength and the one tormented by bitterness end alike in dust, indicating that outer circumstances cannot alter the inner law of life. The real teaching is that the I AM cannot be instructed by external conditions; it is the perceiver and the judge of all states. If I seek knowledge outside my own awareness, I deny the I AM; if I acknowledge myself as the source of all I perceive, the distinctions between ease and pain melt away. The dust and the worms symbolize forgotten ideas; when I remember I AM, inner shifts precede any change in form, and outward life rearranges to reflect that renewed consciousness rather than prior status.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I AM the I AM; this consciousness is the life of all I see.' Feel the shift as you revise judgments about others' fate and your own, and notice the outer scene already aligning to your inner state.
