Pride's Flight, Then Dust
Job 20:6-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
A powerful ego rises toward the heavens, then collapses; the world will wonder where it is as the image vanishes.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider this text as a portrait of consciousness. The man whose excellency mounts to the heavens is a state of self-exaltation you entertain in mind. When you identify with outer grandeur—rank, wealth, applause—the inner sight cannot sustain it; the moment you turn your attention from the image to the I AM within, that image dissolves, and the voice says: Where is he? The 'eyes' that saw him are the inner recognition that the world of appearances is a dream within the mind. The reality called 'him' is a dream of separation; as you awaken to the truth of your unity with God, pride dissolves and the place of that image is no longer beholden. You do not fight the ego; you starve it by refusing to feed the belief in separation. Remember, consciousness is the only stage; the ascent and the fall are two movements of the same I AM in endless play. By choosing a still, unified I AM and feeling it-real, you end the dream of transient power and awaken to eternal justice and order inside.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit in quiet, assume the feeling 'I AM' as your living reality, and revise the pride image by letting it dissolve into awareness. Rest in the inner throne that remains, untouched by outward status.
