Biblical Context
Job 20:14 depicts nourishment turning to poison as a vivid image of inner bitterness and hidden sin producing suffering; it points to the inner movements behind outward pain.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the line as a mirror of your own psyche: the body's 'meat' is what your inner state nourishes, and when bitterness lurks, the nutrition turns to gall within. The verse does not condemn your flesh; it exposes the law of consciousness: you are not subject to fate but to the state you presently occupy. I am the I AM, the awareness that imagines. If you dwell in resentment toward yourself or others, your inner digestion becomes poisoned, and you experience 'gall' as discomfort, guilt, or sickness. To reverse, assume you are the one who reigns as creator: imagine a state of gratitude, forgiveness, and completion. Feel the inner meal turning to sweet nourishment, not poison. Through revision and feeling it real, you awaken to the truth that your experiences reflect your inner state. The poison dissolves when you identify with a new state of consciousness, and your body follows.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and, with a steady breath, assume the feeling of the state you want: a nourished, grateful body. Repeat 'I AM free from bitterness' until it feels real.
