The Inner Integrity Test

Job 2:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 2 in context

Scripture Focus

3And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
4And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
Job 2:3-4

Biblical Context

God notes Job’s perfect uprightness and fear of God, even as the trial is allowed. Satan counterclaims that preserving life governs a person’s response.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scene the LORD is the I AM within your consciousness, acknowledging a state of readiness. Job represents a state of consciousness that is upright and faithful, held by the discipline of fearing truth and eschewing evil. The dialogue with Satan is the inner debate—the voice of doubt and fear that whispers, 'skin for skin': that life must be protected at all costs. Yet God’s remark that this integrity remains intact even when moved against by divine permission shows that no outer circumstance can touch the real you when you remain anchored in the I AM. The test is not punishment but a demonstration that your inner state persists, regardless of appearances. The belief that life is separate from awareness dissolves as you realize your true identity is constant; the external storm reveals, not destroys, the permanent self. When you claim this inner reality, you discover that the conflict dissolves into the certainty of who you are—undefiled and unwavering.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare: I am the I AM, unshakable and intact. Feel the reality of this inner integrity now, and let your outer circumstances bend to your conscious awareness.
