Beheld by the I Am
Job 18:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Job 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse voices Job's complaint that others count them as beasts and vile in their sight. It expresses the dehumanizing effect of judgment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, the line is not about others naming you with contempt, but about the inner verdict you hold about yourself. When you feel you are treated as beasts, you have accepted a state of consciousness that denies your divine image. The words point to the mind’s tendency to shrink and assign a degraded identity whenever fear, doubt, or guilt is felt; yet these are only inner movements, not immutable facts. The solution is to reverse the inner picture: affirm that you are seen and loved by the I AM, that your true self is the Imago Dei, no matter what outward voices declare. By dwelling in the awareness that God (I AM) radiates as your consciousness, you begin to revise the image you are projecting. Imagination creates reality; thus the external voice of contempt dissolves as your inner state aligns with absolute worth. Do not resist the accusation; instead, assume the inner fact of wholeness until it feels real in the chest and spine.
Practice This Now
For five minutes, assume the inner fact of being seen as whole by the I AM; silently affirm your divine image and let that assurance flood your chest until the old identity dissolves.
