Job 18:11-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
These verses describe terror surrounding a person, draining strength with hunger and death, and removing confidence until he stands before the king of terrors. They present inner states, not fixed facts, revealing that you can revise fear through inner realization.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville's tongue, the terrors are not external monsters but your present state of consciousness—fear, lack, and the sense of predation you feed with attention. The 'king of terrors' is the commanding thought that your life and strength belong to threat; the 'tabernacle' is your inner sanctuary—the I AM you are, untouched by decay. When your vitality is said to be 'hunger-bitten' and destroyed, that is the reflex of identifying with a self built on lack. The remedy is to shift to the living awareness that you are the I AM—already whole, protected, and enduring. Assume the state where there is no destruction at your side; dwell in the inner land of abundance and let the outer form answer to that truth. Revision is done by feeling it real: see the scene change from terror to peace, from threat to assurance, by repeating the awareness, “I AM that I AM” as your present life. Confidence is rooted not by coercion but by identity; the king of terrors loses his throne when you recognize your tabernacle as the I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and feel the I AM breathing in you; revise the scene by affirming, 'I am safe, I am whole,' until it feels real.
