Biblical Context
Job declares his days and purposes are past, and the thoughts of his heart are broken. He feels the night lengthen as darkness presses in.
Neville's Inner Vision
Let us read Job 17:11-12 as a revelation of consciousness, not history. What you call days that are past, and purposes broken off, are simply the old self-image you have ceased identifying with. The night turning into day and the brief light do not describe a change in the weather; they describe the way your attention has organized perception. When you believe you are at the end of your plans, you are only at the boundary where the I AM can reassert itself. The light disappears only in a mind enthralled to lack; in the I AM, there is no real night. Imagination creates the new day, and the heart's thoughts can be revised to align with a fixed reality: you are already the aware one, the self that never dies to the possibility of joy. Practice this: assume the state 'I AM the source and author of my days,' feel that certainty settle as a tangible light within you, and watch the scenes adjust to reflect a renewed purpose.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise your self-concept to 'I am the author of my days.' Feel the inner light growing; imagine your next days unfolding from this unwavering awareness.
