Job's Inner Renewal
Job 14:1-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Job 14:1-9 speaks of human life as brief and troubled, like a flower cut down; yet it also holds the seed of renewal - water will cause the root to sprout again.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the scene as a description of your inner state. A man born of woman is few days and troubled because you currently identify with a consciousness that limits you to a passing, shadowy form. The opening question dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one and bringest me into judgment with thee is the inner drama of judgment by the old sense of self. The days and the months are not cosmic caprice but the rhythm of your mind's belief. The line Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean not one reveals that your current state calls for a higher assumption. Yet the promise remains there is hope of a tree if cut down; the root, old as it may be, can sprout again through the scent of water the inner water being awareness feeling and imagination. Your rest as the hireling is the moment you stop insisting on the old limitation and rest in the I AM. When you imagine the water touching roots, the living sap of renewal begins to circulate, and new branches arise within your life as your consciousness revives.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling I AM, and imagine a tree within your chest rooted in God, watered by awareness. See new shoots rise and feel renewal flowing through every part of your life.
