Blessed Name of the I Am

Job 1:21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 1 in context

Scripture Focus

21And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
Job 1:21

Biblical Context

Job states that humans come into the world with nothing and leave with nothing; all that is given or taken is from the LORD, and he blesses the LORD's name regardless.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the Neville view, the nakedness of Job's birth and death is not a fact about biology but a reference to a naked, undressed state of consciousness. The LORD’s giving and taking becomes a symbol of inner movements of the I AM—the awareness that supplies or withdraws as you hold or release particular beliefs. When you identify with a self that is separate from the I AM, you experience change as loss; when you remember that the I AM is the only reality, all appearances are moods within one divine mind. Blessed be the name of the LORD is not resignation but a practitioner’s creed: you bless the unchanging presence within you even when outward fortune shifts. Thus true worship is the alignment of attention with the I AM, not outward ritual. Suffering and trials become invitations to revise your inner state; they reveal how you have answered the question, Who am I? Answer with the certainty that you are the I AM, sovereign and complete, and you will experience peace regardless of circumstance.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat, 'I AM the I AM, the giver and taker in my life.' Then imagine a warm gold light filling you, and feel the state of blessing the name regardless of circumstance.
