Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Job is described as a perfect and upright man who fears God and avoids evil, with seven sons, three daughters, and great wealth—this portrait signals a life blessed by alignment with the divine.
Neville's Inner Vision
Job is not a man in a distant land; he is your state of consciousness, perfectly upright, living in reverence for the I AM. When you hear that he 'feared God' and 'eschewed evil,' translate it as your own discipline of the mind—reverence for truth and refusal to dwell in fear or negative thoughts. The seven thousand sheep and vast household are symbolic of inner abundance that accompanies this state, not mere outward possessions. To be the greatest of the east is to acknowledge this state as primary in your mind, ruling over every lesser belief and circumstance. In this view, piety and prosperity arise from alignment with your divine nature, simply by living from the I AM and letting the imagined reality prove itself. Your imagination is not entertainment; it is the instrument by which you awaken and rearrange your inner world to reflect God’s law. The outer life follows the inward condition when you persist in this inner assurance.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and affirm, 'I am the perfect upright I AM, provided and protected by the God within.' Then imagine your inner life as rich and orderly—family, health, and plenty—feeling it as already real.
