Job 1:1

Biblical Context

Job 1:1 describes a man named Job who is perfect, upright, and God-fearing, shunning evil. It presents an ideal inner state as the starting point of a life lived in reverent awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Job 1:1 is not a geography lesson but a map of your inner state. Uz is the unknown terrain of your mind; Job is the state of consciousness that stands perfect and upright in the light of the I AM. To Neville, God is not a distant deity but the living awareness within you; to fear God is to dwell in reverence for this life-force, and to eschew evil is to refuse to entertain thoughts that would diminish it. When you take on the posture of Job, you stop being pushed by circumstances and begin to rule from the interior throne. Keep this image alive as your true nature: you are the perfect, upright man, already aligned with the I AM, already protected by divine law. If disturbance arises, do not fight it; revise your idea of yourself until the fresh, quiet assurance returns. Let the feeling of reverence for the I AM fill your chest and let any claim of lack dissolve in its heat. In time, the outer scenes will reflect the inner posture you sustain.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Assume you are the perfect, upright Job now; feel the reverence for the I AM and let all lesser thoughts dissolve. Revise any fearful thought until it collapses into this present state and feel it real.
