Read Jeremiah 9 in context

Scripture Focus

23Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Jeremiah 9:23

Biblical Context

The verse warns not to boast in human wisdom, strength, or wealth; true power lies in the inner I AM.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the Jeremiah passage does not forbid wisdom or wealth; it invites you to discover that the source of all such things is the I AM you truly are. When you glory in wisdom you identify with thought; when you boast in might you identify with control; when you exalt wealth you identify with appearances. These are only forms of consciousness, never the enduring you. God’s call is to withdraw your sense of self from external measures and rest in the quiet presence that animates them. If you see the ‘wise man,’ the ‘mighty man,’ and the ‘rich man’ as states of your own mind, you can revise them at the level of consciousness and release their tyranny. Your wealth is awareness; your strength is the certainty of being; your wisdom is love embodied as the I AM. Practice by assuming the state of the I AM now, and gently declare that you are the presence behind every thought, force, and form. Let the outer signs arise as reflections of that inner reality, not as its source.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare 'I AM the I AM' as your entire self. Feel the truth as a living warmth, and revise any sense of self based on wisdom, might, or riches to this one being.
