Inner Death Invades Doorways
Jeremiah 9:21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Death is described as invading our windows and palaces, severing the children from without and the young men from the streets. It paints a picture of disruption and separation within the community.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the ancient text speaks in outward terms, yet the true warfare is inward. Death, in this sense, is a state of consciousness that has wandered into the mind’s windows and the mansion of belief, not a neighbor at the door. When you hear of death entering the palaces, understand that your inner dispositions are being pressed by fear, limitation, or habit, and vitality (the children and the young) seem to be driven from the streets of your awareness. Neville Goddard taught that God is the I AM within, and imagination alone fashions reality. Therefore, to interpret this verse creatively, you must notice what state you are entertaining. If the sense of lack or danger holds sway, you are inviting that death-like entrance. But you can reverse it by assuming a higher occupancy: that the I AM is alive, your inner house is intact, and life flows through every room. Begin to imagine the doors swung open, the inner halls echo with possibility, and the vitality of your youth return to action. Death then becomes simply a mistaken thought, easily revised by a single, decisive assumption that life is always here.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: For five minutes, sit in quiet and assume the I AM is the steady governor of your inner dwelling; feel the doors and windows open and vitality returning. Then declare mentally: Death has no power here; I am alive in God.
