Inner Law and Imagination
Jeremiah 9:13-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The people abandoned God's law and obeyed the thoughts of their own hearts and idols. Judgment follows as inner consequences and disruption.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jeremiah’s warning is not about a history of nations alone; it is a mirror for your inner world. The ‘law’ set before you is the divine order of the I AM, your constant awareness. To walk after the imagination of the heart is to follow the picture you have formed of lack, fear, and idols. When you identify with that imagined movement, you become scattered within, attention torn, experiences echoing wormwood and gall. The 'sword' is the inward discipline that cuts away the old story as you awaken to the unity of your true center. The Lord of hosts—the God of Israel—represents the I AM behind every thought; when you align with that inner governor, the appearance of doom loses its sting because you have revised the fake narrative from within. The punishment spoken of arises from resisting the law you already are; return to the law, and exile ends as you reclaim wholeness and live in the one kingdom within you.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I am aligned with the divine law within; my imagination serves the I AM.' Then feel this truth as real for five minutes, letting fear melt into unity.
