Inner Covenant, Outer Deception
Jeremiah 8:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Covetousness has infected everyone from the least to the greatest, so possessions and even leadership speak falsely. The verse warns that deceit and loss follow when inner desires rule.
Neville's Inner Vision
You are not looking at a history but a state of consciousness. Jeremiah speaks of covetousness that grips every rank, so that even the prophet and the priest may speak with hollow truth. The wives you think you own and the fields you claim are symbols of inner possessions you seek to secure through fear. When consciousness identifies with lack, the outer world rearranges itself to confirm that dream. Yet the remedy is to turn to I AM, the one awareness that owns every thought and thing. By imagination you can reverse the dream and establish a new order. I imagine myself as the rightful steward of all that enters my life, not by force but by awareness. I revise the scene to feel sufficiency, honesty, and joy, and I stay with that feeling until it becomes the only reality I know. When I refuse to protect a version of truth that profits from deceit, the inner covenant dissolves scarcity and returns fidelity to the inner temple. This is not punishment but the correction of consciousness, restoring the kingdom within.
Practice This Now
Practice: Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled by silently affirming I am the rightful steward of my inner kingdom and its gifts. Then imagine handling relationships and resources with honesty and love, without grasping.
