Biblical Context
Jeremiah 7:32-34 speaks of a coming desolation where the valley of Hinnom becomes a valley of slaughter. Laughter and joy are silenced as the land lies desolate.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the philosophy I teach, the words are not about distant geography but the inner weather of your own consciousness. The days spoken of are days of shift in your state of awareness. The valley of Tophet and the slaughtering imagery symbolize old beliefs, fears, and identifications you have buried within the mind until there is no room for their former voices. When the carcases of old self-concepts lie exposed, you may fear the silence, yet that silence is the space where a new, vibrant life can arise. The decree that the voices of mirth and the bridegroom’s song will cease points to the erasure of a mental climate built on guilt, scarcity, or separation. But as you awaken to the I AM, you re-create the conditions of your inner world. The desolation is not punishment but a clearing—an invitation to imagine and dwell in a state where joy, gratitude, and unity reign. By assuming this new state and letting it feel real, you invite the return of laughter as your natural expression of being.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and fix your attention on the I AM within you. Assume: 'The valley of slaughter is now the valley of joy; the streets resound with laughter because I am fully awake here.' Feel that truth settle in for a few moments, and let the mental climate reflect this inner reality.
