Inner Temple, Den Within

Jeremiah 7:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 7 in context

Scripture Focus

11Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 7:11

Biblical Context

The inner sanctuary named for God is at risk of being corrupted by greed and pretense. God sees the inner truth and demands genuine worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture the temple as your present state of consciousness, the very house you call 'I AM' within. When your inner worship becomes a den of robbers, it means you have allowed fear, pride, or appetite to barter with truth, instead of letting the presence of the I AM govern every thought. Jeremiah’s God is not outside but the seeing awareness within you: he watches all inner movements and will not tolerate a counterfeit sanctuary. The remedy is simple in principle: assume a new reality by recognizing that the I AM is always here where you stand, and that your temple is kept holy by your attention. Begin revising by declaring, in imagination, that the robberies of lack, guilt, or self-concern are dissolved, and that you dwell in the presence that never steals from itself. As you persist, the inner atmosphere shifts; what once felt like a crowded, conflicted chamber becomes a quiet temple open to divine intention.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and affirm, 'I AM here in this temple, and only what is true to the I AM may inhabit it.' Then feel it real by sensing a calm, holy light filling your inner sanctuary as you release every craving or fear.
