Biblical Context
Jeremiah speaks to Judah, standing at the gate of the LORD’s house to declare His word. He commands them to amend their ways so they may continue to dwell in this place.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your Jeremiah moment is a call to the inner gate, not a distant event. Stand at the gate of the Lord's house—the threshold of your own awareness—and listen for the quiet command to revise your inner traffic. Hear the word of the Lord as a directive to change your states of consciousness: to let go of habitual thoughts, fears, and judgments that keep you from dwelling in this present sanctuary. Amend your ways and your doings not by bargaining with life but by choosing a new inner state and feeling it real: I am the consciousness that dwells here now. When you sincerely inhabit that state, the outer world begins to reflect it, and you discover you are already dwelling in the promised place because the place is only the discipline of awareness. The presence of God, the I AM within, is not elsewhere but within your own knowing. The gate you stand at is the boundary of attention; step through by an unwavering assumption that this very moment is your home. You may begin to notice that what you sought has always been your own inner state.
Practice This Now
Practice: In a quiet moment, assume the truth: 'I am dwelling in this place now.' Breathe until that sense lingers as your ordinary state.
