Inner Invaders, Inner Zion

Jeremiah 6:22-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 6 in context

Scripture Focus

22Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
23They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
Jeremiah 6:22-23

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 6:22-23 speaks of a mighty force from the north arrayed for war against Zion. In Neville's light, the invasion is an image arising from the mind's states.

Neville's Inner Vision

From Neville's view, the 'north' and the 'great nation' are movements within your own consciousness. The invaders with bows and spears are persistent thoughts, old fears, and the habit of responding as if you were under siege. Their roar is the clamor of a mind that forgets its true nature, a mind identified with limitation rather than the I AM that you are. Zion, the daughter of Zion, stands for your inner awareness, the spaciousness of your birthright. When you imagine armies assembling against you, you are not threatened by external forces; you are meeting an inner state you have accepted as real. The remedy is not to resist but to shift the posture: assume that the I AM in you is larger than the imagined army, and feel the confidence of a ruler who commands thoughts. By imagining and feeling as if, you awaken the kingdom within; the outer "threat" dissolves as your inner alignment returns.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and assume the inner posture: I AM the fortress; these invaders are only thoughts. Feel the victory of Zion as your awareness remains untouched, and let peace reign.
