Neville's Inner Vision
Jeremiah 51:56 speaks of the spoiler coming upon Babylon and the mighty men whose bows are broken, because the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite. In my reading, the whole image is a map of your inner state. Babylon stands for a limited story you tell about yourself—fear, control, possession. When you insist on outer power, your inner bows snap as the natural consequence of resisting your true nature. The God of recompenses is the fixed I AM within you, the certainty that every cause you entertain returns as effect in your life. The loss of the bows is not punishment but a sign that you are free to return to a higher alignment. Recompense comes when you stop proving your small self against life and begin proving your infinite self through faith that the one reality you inhabit is consciousness. If you remain still in the awareness of I AM, you will find the so-called spoilers dissolving into steady, rightful order, and your inner world becomes the stage where justice unfolds.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM is sovereign in this moment; revise the scene by saying, 'The old bows are broken; I am the law of recompense in full harmony with God.' Feel it as if it already is.
