Rod of Israel's Inheritance

Jeremiah 51:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 51 in context

Scripture Focus

19The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.
Jeremiah 51:19

Biblical Context

Jacob's portion is distinct and divinely formed; God is the former of all things, and Israel serves as the rod by which that inheritance is manifest. The inner self is the creation and its governor.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this verse, Jacob represents your inner inheritance—the seed within the I AM. The Lord who forms all things is not external; he is the activity of your awareness. Israel is the rod of his inheritance, the disciplined instrument by which your imagination writes form into experience. The rod is not control through force, but alignment of consciousness and decree. Your life becomes the workshop where the I AM shapes events through definite assumption. Do not seek truth outside yourself; your life is the result of the state you dwell in. When you assume the wish is fulfilled, you place the rod to write new form on the world. The name 'the LORD of hosts' is your awareness's authority—the inner commander who calls forth the hosts of experiences and probabilities. Remain loyal to the covenant within: your divine inheritance is yours to create, and the former of all things works through you as the I AM.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the I AM as the former of all things, feeling your desired state as already real. Then revise any conflicting scene by carrying the rod of inheritance into your life and letting it write the next chapter.
