Read Jeremiah 50 in context

Scripture Focus

17Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
18Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
Jeremiah 50:17-18

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 50:17-18 depicts Israel as a scattered people, driven away by lions, with the kings of Assyria and Babylon as the agents of exile. The Lord declares He will punish Babylon just as He punished Assyria.

Neville's Inner Vision

Israel is a field of consciousness, scattered by restless thoughts and shifting desires. The lions that drove him away are the relentless beliefs that pretend to possess power. The kings of Assyria and Babylon symbolize two ruling ideas that have claimed sovereignty over your mind—external control and fear of collapse. The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, is the I AM within you—the steady presence that remains when you stop chasing the outer drama. The prophecy of punishing Babylon’s king is a call to revise the ruling thoughts that govern your inner landscape. This is not wrath but reintegration: a return to alignment where your awareness governs the dream instead of being governed by it. Exile dissolves when you withdraw attention from the external scenario and dwell in the one kingdom of consciousness that remains intact. The promise is fulfilled as you awaken to your inner unity, realizing the power you sought outside was always within your own consciousness, guided by the I AM that you are.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise: declare, I am the center of my scattered self; feel the restoration of inner unity. Hold that feeling as real for a few minutes.
