Biblical Context
Jeremiah 5:22-23 speaks of God’s fixed order and the call to fear His presence, contrasting it with a rebellious human heart. It shows that when the mind forgets this order, waves of circumstance seem to overwhelm, until alignment is restored.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your waking state, the sand drawn for the sea is your inner boundary, set by the steady decree of I AM. When you imagine the waves of circumstance, you feel their pull; yet the Presence remains the rock against which the tides must turn. The verse asks: Will you tremble at my presence, or pretend the boundary does not exist? The refusal spoken as a revolting heart is the moment your consciousness forgets that you are the creator of your inner weather. In Neville's terms, the cosmos does not threaten you; it mirrors your state. If fear of the outer world becomes louder than your inner I AM, you have allowed the waves to pass the sand. But if you consent to the boundary, you acknowledge God as Presence, not distance. Your obedience is simply alignment--feeling your inner center as immutable, watching thoughts, feelings, and appearances respect that center. When you persist in this, you discover judgments soften and repentance becomes a turning back to awareness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise your state: I AM the boundary; I have placed the sand for the sea within me. Feel the inner boundary standing firm as waves arise, then rest in that reality.
