End of Moab's High Places

Jeremiah 48:35 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 48 in context

Scripture Focus

35Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
Jeremiah 48:35

Biblical Context

The LORD declares He will cause the high-place offerings and the burning of incense to Moab's gods to cease.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider Moab as a state of consciousness, a habitual worship of outer symbols. When the LORD says He will cause it to cease, He is teaching you that these outward rites are not real power, only a reflection of belief. The 'high places' are the fixed thoughts you adore as more real than your own I AM; the 'incense' is the repeated petitions you send to those beliefs as if they could grant you life. In truth, the I AM—the inmost awareness you embody—can dissolve these gestures by a single act of revision: 'I no longer need these idols; I am complete now.' As you assume this end of ritual, the urge to perform fades; consciousness reorders itself, and the inner sanctuary remains untouched, radiant and serene. This cessation is not punishment but liberation: a lifting of attention from illusion to reality. Remain in the sense of complete presence, and you will find that the temple within is always open, and the external ceremonies lose their hold on you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe into the space of your awareness, and assume that all outward high places and incense have ceased; feel yourself resting in the I AM, the inner temple intact.
