Inner Prophet, Inner Obedience

Jeremiah 44:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 44 in context

Scripture Focus

4Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
Jeremiah 44:4

Biblical Context

God sent all His prophets to warn the people not to commit the abomination He hates. The verse centers on obedience and separation from what He deems unholy.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the prophets as the living voice of your I AM, awakening within you to higher understanding. The 'abominable thing' is any habit, thought, or allegiance that contradicts your true state. When God sent them rising early, that is your inner dawn—consciousness waking before outward action. The people’s failure to heed mirrors a misalignment of your own mind: you cling to familiar images instead of revising to match your desired state. The verse points to holiness and separation not as external ritual, but as alignment of consciousness with the reality you intend to experience. Each time you resist the inner command, you confirm limitation; when you accept and act in accord with it, you step into the life your inner message promises. The 'prophecy' is fulfilled within as you persist in obedience to the inner voice, letting it govern thoughts, feelings, and choices. The invitation is to stop looking for blessing in external phenomena and to listen for the still small whisper that guides your transformation.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and declare: I am obedient to the inner voice of my I AM. Then revise one stubborn belief or pattern by imagining the next action you will take today in harmony with that inner command, and feel it as real.
