Jeremiah 42:15

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 42:15 warns the remnant not to seek Egypt as a refuge. If they resolutely move toward Egypt, they signal exile instead of safety.

Neville's Inner Vision

All the words of the text point to the dynamics of mind. The remnant's plan to set their faces toward Egypt is not a geographic choice but a decision of consciousness toward security grounded in fear. God as I AM is awareness here and now; to turn away from that inward security to a land of exile is to enter a dream of safety that never satisfies. When you hear 'If ye wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt,' hear it as: if you wholly commit your mind to a belief that safety lies outside your own awareness, you invite withdrawal from the living presence. The verse invites us to notice that every outward move reflects an inner posture. The promise is not in Egypt but in remaining aligned with the I AM. By choosing a mental geography of trust, the exile dissolves, and the memory of return becomes your present experience. The path is inward: revise the plan by affirming, I am already safe in the land of my own awareness, and my security is the I AM.

Practice This Now

Assume now that you are already where you belong—within the land of inner faith. Close your eyes, feel the I AM as your constant companion, say, 'I am safe in the one presence of God,' and permit the feeling of home to supplant fear.
