Inner Freedom in Jeremiah
Jeremiah 40:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 40 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah is freed from chains and offered a choice to go with Babylon or remain. The land is before him, and he is guided by the governor’s instruction as he decides.
Neville's Inner Vision
I am the awareness that frees the prisoner of limitation; the release in Jeremiah is a coloring of your inner state, not a historical accident. The ‘land before thee’ is the field of possibilities your I AM can inhabit the moment you imagine yourself as already free. The invitation to go into Babylon is a call to identify with the new state you desire rather than the worn identity you have outgrown. The captain of the guard stands as your disciplined mind, supplying nourishment and assurances to the traveler who acts in harmony with inner truth. When told to return to Gedaliah, see it as the inner governor aligning outward circumstance with your inner covenant. Do not chase outcomes; rather, assume the feeling of the fulfilled desire and let the outer world respond to your inner decree. Providence becomes intimate when you dwell in the certainty that you are already the state you choose, and the path appears to reflect that conviction.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare, 'I am free from all bonds; the land is before me, and I move where my I AM calls.' Then visualize the path ahead, the guard offering nourishment, and feel the ease of acting on your inner choice.
