Inner Silence, Inner King

Jeremiah 38:24-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 38 in context

Scripture Focus

24Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.
25But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:
26Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.
27Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.
Jeremiah 38:24-27

Biblical Context

Zedekiah urges Jeremiah to conceal his words. The princes press for disclosure, but Jeremiah speaks only what the king ordained, and the matter remains unseen.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jeremiah's scene is a theater of inner states: the king within is your higher I AM, the outward voices (Zedekiah and the princes) are the surface mind alarms seeking exposure. The prophet speaks only what the inner king decreed, not every thought born of fear or pride. In Neville's terms, this is the Kingdom of God as a living state of consciousness: you decide what is spoken and when, by acknowledging the authority of the inner ruler. When you are tempted to reveal every private conviction, you practise discernment: you are not hiding truth, you are honoring a timing established by the inner command. The 'not perceived' outcome is the outer world lagging behind the inner conviction, proving that the outer senses follow inner certainty. So, assume the inner word as already spoken, feel it as real, and rest in the assurance that the right visibility comes when the inner government deems it so. The hiddenness is a discipline that preserves life until the moment of perfect alignment with the divine plan.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit in stillness and assume you have already spoken the inner word to the king; feel the relief of timing perfect and let the outer situation reflect that inner alignment.
