The Inner Scroll of Repentance
Jeremiah 36:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 36 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah is commanded to read the LORD's words from the roll aloud to the people on the fasting day, in the LORD's house. The hope is that they will turn from their evil ways and seek mercy.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jeremiah’s instruction to read the roll becomes a picture of inner listening. The fasting day is an interior discipline where quiet consciousness attends to the words that the I AM would speak to you. The LORD’s words are not external words but the dynamic consciousness within you—the awareness that you are already the I AM. Reading them aloud in the inner temple, you invite a turning of your mind from misalignment to alignment. The anger and fury the passage speaks of are not punishment but the stubborn habits and fears that resist your awakening. By hearing the inner Word and presenting your life as a petition to the divine within, you invite repentance not as punishment but as a transformation of your state. If you truly listen, you may return from the old ways, and the inner self shifts toward harmony with the I AM. In Neville’s view, the moment you acknowledge and dwell in that Word, the outer world begins to reflect the change.
Practice This Now
Sit in stillness and read the inner roll as if the LORD is speaking to you today; assume you have already turned from the old ways, and feel the I AM renewing your life in this moment.
