The Inner Word at the Gate
Jeremiah 36:10-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 36 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Baruch reads Jeremiah’s words to the assembly in the temple. Michaiah, hearing them, goes down to the king’s scribe chamber where the princes sit.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the temple of your own consciousness, Baruch becomes your inner scribe who speaks the truth of Jeremiah to the gathered rulers of your mind. The house of the LORD is the standing awareness that witnesses thought and feeling; the chamber of Gemariah is the memory that holds records of your previous beliefs; the higher court and the new gate are the doors of perception through which a new decree enters. When Michaiah, hearing the words of the LORD, moves from hearing into action, he represents the moment in you when a conviction of truth crosses from the ear of the mind into the policy of your life. The princes who sit there—Elishama, Delaiah, Elnathan, and Zedekiah—are the stubborn thoughts that must yield to the Word you now accept. The scene teaches that the inner command changes the outer scene; the moment you truly hear the I AM within, the outer rulers become receptive, and life begins to conform to the order established in consciousness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine Baruch reading the inner Word to the princes now; feel it real in your chest as I AM awareness, and carry that decree into your day as already accomplished.
