Anger and Mercy Within

Jeremiah 3:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 3 in context

Scripture Focus

5Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
Jeremiah 3:5

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 3:5 questions whether anger can last forever and notes that people have spoken and acted evil as far as they could.

Neville's Inner Vision

The verse reveals the mind's fear that anger endures in the divine; in truth, 'God' is the I AM within you, the awareness choosing your state. Anger is a temporary movement of consciousness you can revise by assuming a higher state. Mercy and compassion are not distant favors but your habitual posture of awareness. If you have spoken and done evil as you could, you have not altered your essence—only believed a pattern. Turn by choosing a higher state now; imagine the I AM declaring, 'This anger ends here; I choose mercy and clarity.' Feel the reality of your inner governor who forgives, not condemns. In repentance, shift your attention from the old deed to the new state you will inhabit. Your world then reflects the inner turning, where judgment yields to mercy and the perceived end of anger becomes a new beginning.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM as the governor of your mind; revise 'anger forever' to 'I am calm, compassionate, and turning now' and feel it real.
