Inner Eyes Rise: Jeremiah 3:2

Jeremiah 3:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 3 in context

Scripture Focus

2Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
Jeremiah 3:2

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 3:2 invites you to lift your eyes to the high places and see where you have sought external rites instead of inner truth. It speaks of wandering like the Arabian in the wilderness and sullying the land with untrue loyalties.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville vantage, the high places are inner states, not temples. Lift your eyes and notice where you have sought power through outward rites, as an Arabian traveler wandering in the wilderness of habit. The land you inhabit is your consciousness; when you feed the whoredoms of fear, pride, or attachment, you pollute it with a false worship of form. There is no other power but the I AM within, no lawful king apart from your own assumption. The healing is to revise your sense of self, to refuse the old allegiance to external symbols and return to covenant with the inner Self. Assume the feeling of your fulfilled state now and dwell there until it becomes your habitual awareness. When you persist in that inner state, the high places lose their sway and your inner land is made holy again. Loyalty becomes the steady reality of your consciousness, undeniable and unpolluted by outward appearances.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare softly, I AM that I AM. Assume the fulfilled state now and feel the unity of mind erasing every old idol.
