Inner Covenant Reimagined
Jeremiah 3:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God declares He is married to His people and invites the backsliders to return. He promises restoration and a home in Zion.
Neville's Inner Vision
Turn your attention to the truth that the backsliding you call 'you' is only a state of consciousness, not a distant failure. When the Lord says, I am married unto you, He is declaring your essential I AM—your awareness—as already in covenant with itself. Zion then is not a place you reach later, but a realization you awaken within; the scattered attitudes, fears and cravings are the 'fragments' the mind gathers and sorts into unity. The line about taking you one of a city and two of a family is a picture of inner unity: parts of the soul reunited, a household of harmony arranged by your inner decree. Covenant loyalty means remaining faithful to the inner state you desire, not chasing outward conditions. Mercy and compassion flow from awareness itself; as you repent—turn your thought from lack to fullness—you speed the return to wholeness. So, dwell in the feeling of being already in Zion, and your outer circumstances will reflect that inner marriage of consciousness with itself.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume, 'I am married to my true self.' Feel Zion as a present inner city within you, and let restoration be your immediate experience.
