Jeremiah 29:31-32 Inner Vision
Jeremiah 29:31-32 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 29 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text condemns a false prophet and the lie he spread, showing that trust in deception harms the community and that true blessing comes from aligning with the Lord's genuine guidance. It invites obedience to the inner, truthful voice over external clever talk.
Neville's Inner Vision
All scripture is a description of states of consciousness. When Jeremiah condemns Shemaiah and declares punishment, the scene is not merely a history lesson but a picture of a mind embracing a lie and suffering for it. Shemaiah represents a belief that voices apart from your own I AM guidance can govern you. The exile spoken of is the mind’s captivity to a thought that is not aligned with inner truth. The remedy is not external justice but the withdrawal of assent to the lie, returning attention to the one Presence within—the I AM that you are. When you cease believing the rebel voice, you displace its authority and witness the good that the true governor can do for your life. The 'seed' that cannot dwell among this people is the recycled thought that separates you from your inner community of awareness. The verse invites you to revise any claim that would pull you away from your essential self, to stand firm in the awareness that you are the perceiver and the creator of your experience.
Practice This Now
Sit in quiet stillness and declare, 'I AM the only governor of my life.' Then revise any troubling thought by affirming its falsity and feel the new image dissolving into clarity.
