Jeremiah 27:18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 27 in context

Scripture Focus

18But if they be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
Jeremiah 27:18

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 27:18 speaks of true prophets interceding with the LORD to keep sacred vessels within the temple and prevent their exile to Babylon.

Neville's Inner Vision

Suppose you are the prophet who speaks from the word of the LORD within you. In this moment, the vessels are not literal gold but your faculties—discernment, love, courage, and peace—safeguarded in the inner house of your awareness. When you intercede to the LORD of hosts, you are not bargaining with an external fate; you are re-erecting the conditions of your own mind. The word of the LORD being with you means you stand as the living possibility of mercy here and now. Babylon is the memory of lack, the belief that exile is possible for your inner goods. By asking that the vessels remain, you align your consciousness with a present reality in which fear is dissolved and your inner temple remains intact. The test of genuine prophecy is not future prediction but the power to direct attention so that what you value is kept within the circle of awareness. In this reading, you and your temple are one; intercession is a revision of what it means to suffer removal, and mercy becomes your daily experience as you dwell in the I AM.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the consciousness that you are the temple. Intercede to the LORD of hosts, imagining the vessels remain safely within your inner Jerusalem; feel exile dissolve into peace.
