Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah speaks to the rulers and the people, urging them to amend their ways and heed the LORD. He presents himself as a tested messenger, warning that harming him would bring innocent blood upon the city and its inhabitants.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you the house and the city are states of consciousness; the speaker Jeremiah is the inner vision—the I AM that knows what must be changed. The command to amend your ways is a revision of your current mental atmosphere; to obey the voice of the LORD is to yield to the direction of your higher self. When you hear that the LORD sent me, understand that your inner guidance has placed this truth on your path, and every choice to follow it invites a different inner climate. If you resist or try to kill the messenger, you keep the old pattern and invite inner discord into your life. The line that the LORD will repent of the evil spoken against you translates into this: the old doom dissolves as you embrace the new state you have chosen. As for you, you are in command of the state you hold; you can rearrange it by assumption and by feeling as if the change is already real. The message is not punitive but practical: align with the inner truth, and your outer world will reflect the shift.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and declare I AM the ruler of this mind. Then revise a habit by feeling the new state as already real.
