Read Jeremiah 23 in context

Scripture Focus

39Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
Jeremiah 23:39

Biblical Context

God declares He will utterly forget and forsake the people, and cast them from His presence and the city He gave them. In the inner reading, this becomes a statement about states of consciousness rather than external fate.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner light, Jeremiah’s words declare that I, the I AM, will forget and forsake the city. But remember, the words are spoken within consciousness, not about an external reality. 'God' is the I AM that witnesses every state of mind. The city is a pattern of thoughts, a habit of mind you have mistaken for your identity. When you feel forgotten, you have staged a separation in your own awareness. Yet the I AM cannot forget itself, for awareness is singular; to be forgotten is to fall into a dream of forgetfulness. The so-called exile corresponds to a transient shift in focus away from the presence you truly are. The remedy is not to argue with the outer world, but to revise from the inside: assume that you are forever in the presence of the I AM, and feel that presence now as your own. In that act, the intention to be remembered renders itself; you awaken to the truth that the city you inhabit is sustained by consciousness itself, and you are never cast out from your own being.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat gently, 'I am always in the presence of the I AM.' Feel that presence as your own right now and revise any sense of abandonment into inclusion.
