The Inner Prophets Unveiled
Jeremiah 23:26 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 23 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah questions how long lies will stay in the hearts of those who prophesy falsely; the text highlights self-deception as an inner issue. Truth here is an invitation to examine inner motives rather than external statements.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your own consciousness, the 'prophets' are your guiding ideas, your imagined voices that speak of what must be and what should be. When you perceive 'prophecy' as something spoken from without, you forget that all the words you entertain are only the movements of consciousness within. The 'heart' is your state of being, the inner weather of your I AM. If you are told what to want or dread by a deceiving thought, that thought is a 'prophet' of your own heart, a projection from belief rather than truth. The remedy is to refuse the lie by changing the assumption about who you are and what you can know. Rest in the awareness that you are the I AM, and that every inner voice is a function of your consciousness, not an external decree. When you revise the inner counsel to align with divine truth, the 'prophecies' that came from deceit fade, leaving only the certainty of your true nature. The act of assuming a higher self-state creates the new reality in which truth is the only prophet.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, rest in the I AM, and revise that lingering thought as not your truth. Feel it real that you are already aligned with divine order, and let the new inner witness speak.
