Silence the False Voices
Jeremiah 23:16-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah warns against listening to prophets who speak from their own imagination rather than from the LORD; true guidance comes from standing in the LORD's inner counsel and perceiving his word.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within every mind there are voices that pretend to speak for the Lord, but they carry the vision of their own heart and vanity. The Lord in this text is the I AM, the constant awareness within you; to stand in his counsel is to suspend those vanity-prophets and listen for the quiet, true word that arises when your attention rests in the inner stillness. When you accept the claims of imagination—peace while you walk in vanity, no evil coming upon you—you align with a self-deceived state, not with truth. The true test is who has stood in the counsel of the LORD; if you have not entered that inner chamber, you will misread peace as external circumstance. Therefore, seek the inner word, observe when your feeling aligns with it, and revise any belief that contradicts the inner word until your whole being feels a real, living alignment.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare: I now stand in the counsel of the LORD within me; I hear only the I AM’s word. If any thought or feeling contradicts that word, revise it until you feel it real.
